The Sonic Kitchen provides colourful STEM activities for kids aged 0-12yrs in the sydney area.
Great for long day care – preschool, and holiday programs!
We explore sound and other aspects of physics with a view of making things with that knowledge.
This is what The Sonic Kitchen does, “we make things with sound”.
The Sonic Kitchen is STEM amplified!
All of our STEM activities are interactive, using science and technology to excite the creative spark,
introducing kids to our technologies that enable quirky voice transformations to science
experiments where kids actually get to see sound!!
We also provide an innovative 10 week STEM program called Head Sparks.
All 5 EYLF outcomes and 5 MTOP outcomes are present in our STEM incursions and activities
We always strive for uniqueness and excellence, in turn, encouraging kids to reflect the same trailblazing spirit.
In the mean time, feel free to read through the testimonials.
We sincerely hope to visit your centre very soon!
Hi, my name is Jeremy Barton, and i am the driving force behind The Sonic Kitchen.
I am an inventor, sound designer, digital artist, and educator. I have been involved with sound production since 2007, recording albums in Australia and the U.S.A. During this time I provided sound design for pop artists. I also worked at a sound production company that exposed me to places such as The Sydney Opera House and Fox Studios.
Yes, I’ve been around the block!
You may ask, So why the change from professional production to working with kids?
I changed my course because my life goals changed!
The Sonic Kitchen was born in early 2016, and it was a very steep learning curve.
I soon caught on to what centres were looking for and i started to build incursions and programs to suite their needs.
Children have a great gift of boiling down complex concepts into a simple piece of knowledge, I love that.
It’s funny, I come to centre to teach them, however they have taught me!
I love running The Sonic Kitchen, and I am looking forward to visiting your centre.
Pablo Picasso stated “every child is an artist”.
So it’s our mission to provide interactive physics experiences that go way beyond the traditional format.
To attract the observer through curiosity and beauty.
To reveal the order and drama of life and the natural world though accessible education, modern media, and technology.
